Couple Say Jones Day ‘in Full Retreat’ in Dad-Leave Bias Case

Jones Day has abandoned the defense that its employee policy allowing new mothers eight more weeks off for the birth of a child than new fathers as disability leave is gender neutral, and now relies on “two brand-new,” meritless contentions, married lawyers suing the firm told a federal court.

The firm now says there is no practical difference between its policy and the parental leave employers are permitted to grant under workplace bias laws, former Jones Day associates Mark Savignac and Julia Sheketoff said.
