Health workers and hospitals can decline to provide medical treatment that conflicts with their religious and moral beliefs under new a Trump administration rule.

It’s already facing a lawsuit from the city and county of San Francisco.

The regulation, issued May 2, is President Donald Trump’s latest effort toward what he says is needed protection for religious freedom. He announced the completed rule at the White House during a ceremony celebrating the National Day of Prayer.
