Comcast Says DOJ Lacks ‘Courage of Its Convictions’ on Antitrust

Comcast Corp. blasted the Biden administration over the government’s brief last month urging the U.S. Supreme Court to stay out of an antitrust lawsuit claiming Comcast unlawfully refused to do business with a rival in the TV ad placement market.

The Justice Department “feigns ignorance” by “pretending” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit used a well-settled framework to revive Viamedia Inc.'s antitrust claims, when the government should “frankly” admit it wants that legal test set aside, according to a brief Comcast filed Monday.
