Comcast Didn’t Abuse Monopoly, Court Says, Tossing Viamedia Case

Comcast Corp. won a judgment against spot advertising company Viamedia Inc. over claims that pay-TV rivals were required to use a Comcast subsidiary advertiser when purchasing ad services, forcing Viamedia out of the market.

The Aug. 16 decision from U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Judge Amy J. St. Eve allows Comcast to shake off two years of litigation and avoid the threat of $158 million in damages.
