Christian Groups’ LGBTQ Health-Care Win Must Go, Agencies Say

Christian groups’ victory in a suit to block two U.S. agencies from forcing them to provide or pay for gender-affirming health care must be overturned because they lacked standing to sue, the federal government said Wednesday.

Neither the U.S. Health and Human Services Department nor the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has enforced or threatened to enforce federal anti-discrimination laws that some providers and insurers say violate their religious rights, the agencies told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
