Catholic Groups Want Transgender Health-Care Lawsuit to Proceed

Several Catholic health-care and employer groups urged an appeals court to confirm their right to sue the federal government to invalidate a rule that requires them to provide or pay for transgender-related care.

The Catholic Benefits Association, dioceses, archdioceses, and Catholic-owned businesses asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit to reject the U.S. Health and Human Services Department’s argument that they don’t have standing, as no one has threatened to enforce the rule against them.
