Bump Stock Ban Constitutionality to Get Full Sixth Circuit Look

The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit agreed Friday to review a panel opinion that blocked the federal government’s ban on the gun attachment known as bump stocks.

The panel ruled that the government likely can’t regulate bump stocks using the federal machine-gun law. But in its petition for en banc review, the Justice Department said that bump stocks are used to alter single-shot rifles to operate like machine guns and the panel misinterpreted the federal law.
