Birth Control Rule’s Religious Exemption Should Fall, States Say

Trump administration rules that allow employers with religious or moral objections to opt out of providing employee health insurance that pays for contraceptives should be vacated, two states said.

The religious and moral exemptions to an Obamacare requirement that plans cover birth control aren’t consistent with the Affordable Care Act’s Women’s Health Amendment, Pennsylvania and New Jersey told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania June 28.
