Bill Voiding Arbitration for Harassment Victims Gets Panel OK

A House committee approved a measure 27-14 that would invalidate forced arbitration agreements in instances when a worker alleges sexual harassment or assault.

The House Judiciary Committee advanced the bill (H.R. 4445) Wednesday after the Senate Judiciary Committee did the same with a companion bill earlier this month.

The House version of the bill was introduced in July by Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), standing alongside Gretchen Carlson, a former Fox News anchor who has worked to end the enforceability of the agreements, especially for harassment victims.
