The federal court system’s PACER web portal, which provides user fee-supported access to court dockets, would be replaced by a free-to-use online system under a modified version of H.R. 8235.

The new system, which would also consolidate all federal courts’ filing systems into one place, would have to be operational by Jan. 1, 2025. That deadline could be delayed by as long as a year if the General Services Administration certifies within six months of enactment that more time is required.
