Apple, Amazon, Netflix Escape Burlesque Documentary Song Claims

Amazon.com Inc., Netflix Inc., and Apple Inc. aren’t liable for copyright infringement based on a burlesque documentary that used part of a song about fish sticks without the songwriters’ permission, a Manhattan federal court ruled.

The film made fair use of the song and the companies didn’t infringe copyrights by streaming the documentary, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said Wednesday.
