Activision Sues Over ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ Name Rights (1)

Activision Publishing Inc. is seeking a federal court ruling that its use of the marks “Call of Duty: Warzone” and “Warzone” don’t infringe on trademark rights held by the publisher of a browser-based strategy game.

Activision publishes the popular military-themed first-person shooter series Call of Duty. In 2020 it released a free-to-play multiplayer game Call of Duty: Warzone, according to its complaint filed Thursday at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
