Abortion Provider Seeks SCOTUS Review of Louisiana Law

A federal appeals court decision upholding a Louisiana law requiring physicians who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at local hospitals must be overruled, a health-care provider said.

The law is nearly identical to a Texas provision the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated in 2016, June Medical Services LLC said in an April 17 petition asking the high court to review the Fifth Circuit’s decision.
