U.S. Allies’ Business Groups Push for Investment Review Reprieve

Business and industry groups from countries with close U.S. ties are pressing the Treasury Department to ensure their companies can get coveted exceptions from national security reviews of certain inbound foreign investments.

Organizations in the U.K., Japan, Canada and other countries all urged that their member businesses be offered a path to circumvent new investment scrutiny in response to proposed Treasury rules meant to enhance oversight of foreign transactions involving U.S. companies.
