Space Force Searching for Spying-as-a-Service Satellite Options

Boeing Co. provides the current space and ground segments of military space-based surveillance, but the U.S. Space Force is indicating a potential shift in strategy that could bring different companies into the picture.

The new sources sought notice for recompeting the Space-Based Space Surveillance work says the newest armed services branch wants to see if an as-a-service approach is feasible and identify contractors capable of operating and maintaining the SBSS Block 10 system.
