Saudi Women’s Rights Activist Loses Suit Over DarkMatter Spying

Saudi women’s rights activist Loujain AlHathloul lost her bid to sue Emirati spyware maker DarkMatter Group over allegedly hacking her iPhone in violation of US law.

A federal judge in Oregon dismissed the case Thursday for lack of US legal purview over DarkMatter and three of its former executives, who were accused of surveilling AlHathloul at the direction of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
