Patent Office Interim Director Will Wield PTAB Review Power (1)

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is beginning to process requests for its director’s review of administrative tribunal findings on patent validity, and won’t defer decisions until a new director has been appointed, agency leaders said.

Commissioner for Patents Drew Hirshfeld, who is performing the duties of the director until President Joe Biden permanently fills the seat, said he has “every intent to make decisions as the director for this time I’m in the job.”
