Overby-Seawell Data Breach Class Actions Combined in Georgia MDL

Six class actions alleging Overby-Seawell Co. and KeyBank NA negligently failed to protect the personal financial information of bank customers in connection with a July 2022 data breach will be consolidated in federal court in Georgia, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said.

The lawsuits involve common questions of law and fact, and consolidation in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia will be convenient for the parties and witnesses and promote the “just and efficient conduct of this litigation,” the JPML said in a Wednesday order.
