Self-driving robot start-up Nuro Inc. can now test grocery-delivery vehicles on California roads without a driver behind the wheel, making it the second company to get a permit allowing such trials from the safety-conscious state.
Nuro, founded by ex-Alphabet Inc. employees and backed by SoftBank Vision Fund, wants to use its robots to deliver groceries bought online.
