Micron Slips Vervain Memory Patent Infringement Suit, For Now

Micron Technology Inc. is free from a suit alleging its storage devices infringe four Vervain LLC patents on computer memory storage after a federal judge in Texas dismissed the complaint.

Vervain sued Micron alleging its solid-state drives infringed U.S. Patent Nos. 8,891,298; 9,196,385; 9,997,240; and 10,950,300, which cover flash memory with improved performance.

Judge Alan Albright of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas granted Micron’s motion to dismiss, agreeing Vervain failed to sufficiently plead direct infringement of the patents.
