Major Networks Sue New York’s Locast to Stop Streaming Service

Four major television networks sued a New York-based company that captures and retransmits television broadcast signals, alleging it is committing “massive” copyright infringement.

Locast advertises itself as a non-profit but is supported and used by Dish Network and AT&T Inc. to gain leverage over local broadcast stations, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox say in the complaint filed July 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
