Alphabet Inc.’s Google convinced a California federal judge to dismiss Sonos Inc.’s claims for increased damages and for indirect infringement of three patents for its wireless sound technology by Google products with sound systems and the apps that control them.
Judge William Alsup, in an opinion Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, called the action “yet another pitched battle in the world-wide war between” the companies, which continue to work together on some products even as they are “embroiled in litigation in this district, the ITC, Canada, France, Germany, and Holland.”
