‘Glitches’ in Rural Telehealth Program Is Focus of FCC Proposal

The Federal Communications Commission is seeking comment on how to support telehealth services in remote areas by making up the difference between the rates rural providers face for broadband service and those in urban areas.

The goal is to address glitches in the program’s database of rural areas and telecommunications services that have ended up reimbursing health providers in ways that don’t make sense, according to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel.
