Former Twitter Engineer Loses Appeal of Rejected Group-Bias Law

A former Twitter Inc. employee lost her appeal of a decision by a California judge who had determined the company doesn’t have to face a lawsuit alleging systematic discrimination against female software engineers.

The case brought by Tina Huang stood to be the first in the technology sector to advance to class-action status, and Wednesday’s ruling by a state appeals court is another indication that a movement to level the playing field for women in Silicon Valley has yet to gain legal traction in the courts.
