The Federal Communications Commission wants more time to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to review a lower court’s striking down of its looser media ownership rules.
U.S. Solicitor General Noel Francisco, in a Feb. 10 motion filed on behalf of the FCC, asked the high court for an additional 30 days to appeal the September 2019 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
If approved, the deadline for filing a petition for high court review would be extended to March 19 from Feb. 18.
