FCC Declines Data Tracking Briefing, House Democrat Says (1)

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai declined to brief the House Energy and Commerce Committee on actions to stop phone companies’ disclosure of subscribers’ location data, Frank Pallone, the panel’s chairman, said in an emailed statement.

Pallone (D-N.J.) Jan. 11 called on Pai to brief lawmakers after a report that wireless carriers had sold access to their subscribers’ real-time location data.

The FCC is closed due to the partial government shutdown.
