Facebook has enlisted five new organizations to help with fact-checking in India, the company says in a statement.
India Today Group, Vishvas.news, Factly, Newsmobile and Fact Crescendo will start checks Monday.
They will review news stories on Facebook for facts, and rate their accuracy.
The five join existing partners BOOM Live and AFP in languages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi.
Stories rated false will be shown lower in news feeds, curtailing their spread, the company said.
