Epic Games Fails to Stop Fortnite Loot Box Class Action

Video game developer Epic Games Inc. failed to get a dispute over loot boxes in its massively popular online shooter-survival game Fortnite moved from federal court to arbitration.

Fortnite players can earn “Loot Llamas” that provide randomized items to help them progress, or they can purchase the boxes using an in-game currency known as “V-Bucks.” V-Bucks in turn can be earned, or bought using real money.
