Court Stays Robocall Case Pending Supreme Court Ruling

A federal district court stayed a case alleging that a brewery and hospitality consultant sent unsolicited text messages, deciding to wait until the U.S. Supreme Court issues a ruling in a related matter.

The “best approach” for the case is to wait “for much-needed clarity from the Supreme Court,” the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri said in its opinion on Tuesday, grantingOutfield Brew House LLC and Entertainment Consulting International LLC’s motion.

Plaintiff Michael Seefeldt alleged the companies sent him and a proposed class unsolicited texts with an autodialer in violation of a federal robocall law.
