C-Band Auction Worth Up $40 Billion, FCC to Weigh Rival Plans

The Tech & Telecom Law First Move will not publish Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. It will resume on Friday, July 5.

Satellite companies, wireless carriers, cable providers, and telecom groups are backing rival plans to auction a swath of airwaves—from 3.7 gigahertz to 4.2 gigahertz—seen as ideal for fostering fifth-generation networks. Today’s the last day for them to file comments with the Federal Communications Commission.
