Apple Video Game Loot Box Gambling Appeal Voluntarily Dropped

A parent who alleged Apple Inc. entices teens to gamble by acquiring loot boxes for games downloaded from its App Store has dropped her appeal that followed dismissal of a proposed class suit, according to a filing in the Ninth Circuit.

Rebecca Taylor alleged her minor son, C.T., spent his parents’ money and his own to buy the “Brawl Stars” game equivalent of loot boxes after downloading the online battle arena game onto an iPhone and iPad.
