Amazon Escapes Alleged Hoverboard Fire Claims (1)

Amazon.com Inc. isn’t liable for a hoverboard that allegedly burned down a house because it didn’t play an integral role in bringing the product to market, a federal court ruled.

U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar of the Northern District of California tossed claims of products liability, negligence, and fraudulent concealment brought by consumers who alleged a hoverboard they bought on Amazon.com caused the home-destroying fire.
