Religious-Based Caregiver Sues Michigan to Protect Rights (1)

A faith-based, nonprofit health-care center sued Michigan in federal court Monday, arguing that the state’s civil rights law, as interpreted by Michigan’s courts, will interfere with its religious mission.

“Michigan law poses an imminent threat” to Christian Healthcare Centers Inc., as it effectively requires the provider to check “its religious faith at the clinic door,” a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan says.
