Permanent Bar on HHS Transgender Care Policy Mulled at 5th Cir.

A clash between religious rights and health-care access played out in a New Orleans courtroom Thursday, as Christian doctors argued that the US government can’t—now or ever—force them to provide transition-related care to transgender people.

It’s one of many cases contending the government lacks the power to require professionals to provide services, procedures, or products they object to based on their religious beliefs. It could well wind up before the US Supreme Court.
