Facebook Beats Suit Over Targeted Ads Users Call Discriminatory

Facebook users who say the social media giant violates the Fair Housing Act by allowing discriminatory targeted advertising failed to prove they suffered a concrete injury Wednesday, but a federal judge in California will let them amend their proposed class action.

Several users allege the “exclude people” feature on Facebook’s ad platform uses demographic data that lets advertisers hide certain ads from users based on real or perceived personal characteristics.
