Racial Equity in Hiring Push Launched by EEOC, Labor Department

The Labor Department and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission are ramping up efforts to help employers boost hiring equity in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and racial justice movement.

The joint effort, announced Wednesday by the EEOC and the DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, is focused on expanding access to jobs for workers from underrepresented communities. The agencies plan to develop resources to assist employers in removing unnecessary barriers to hiring.
