Brooklyn Nets Settle Claims of Firings Over Social Justice Talk

The Brooklyn Nets have settled race discrimination claims by Black locker room employees who allege they were denied full-time employment and fired for speaking out about social justice and police brutality, according to a filing in the Eastern District of New York.

The parties “have agreed to settle this case, and are in the process of finalizing the settlement papers,” counsel for plaintiffs, Edward Cerasia II told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York Thursday.

Cerasia said the parties “anticipate filing a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice within the next 30 days.”
