Amazon Worker Who Ignored George Floyd Moment Advances One Claim

An Amazon employee who resisted the company’s order for workers at his Euclid, Ohio, fulfillment center to remain silent in honor of George Floyd because he believed it imposed an anti-police ideology on him can pursue a job retaliation claim, a Cleveland federal judge ruled.

Robert Warner’s allegation that he was soon permanently transferred to a less desirable position wasn’t sufficient to plead retaliation because that move occurred before he filed a bias charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said.
