Adidas, Brooklyn Nets Allegedly Infringe ‘Milkcrate’ Trademarks

An Adidas-made Brooklyn Nets t-shirt with a milk crate basketball logo allegedly infringes Milkcrate Athletics Inc.'s trademarks, according to a complaint filed Aug. 12 in the Southern District of New York.

Baltimore clothing maker Milkcrate sued Adidas and the Nets’ parent company BSE Global, arguing Adidas stole Milkcrate’s logo after discussing a collaboration.

Milkcrate has sold “street wear, sportswear, and other lifestyle apparel” since 1996, and registered trademarks in its name and milk crate logo in 2006 to cover clothing including t-shirts and basketball sneakers.
