Wall St. Group Leads SEC Visitor List on Broker Conflict Plan

The SEC has seen a top Wall Street trade group whose members include Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC more than any other organization as the agency finalizes its plan to revamp broker conflict-of-interest rules.

Representatives of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association have met Securities and Exchange Commission officials six times to discuss the plan since the SEC proposed it April 18, according to a Bloomberg Law analysis of agency records. The meeting count as of Aug. 14 exceeded that of any other firm or group, including organizations that advocate for investors.
