SEC’s Peirce Eyes Gensler’s Help With Cryptocurrency Guidance

Republican SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said she hopes to work with Gary Gensler to provide more regulatory clarity to cryptocurrency entrepreneurs if he joins the agency as its chairman.

Peirce, the Securities and Exchange Commission’s most outspoken crypto proponent, said Wednesday she thinks Gensler shares her desire for greater clarity over whether tokens and other digital assets are subject to the agency’s rules.
