SEC’s Gensler Weighs Concern About Indirect Emissions Reporting

SEC Chair Gary Gensler said he’s examining concerns that companies have raised about reporting their indirect greenhouse gas emissions as the agency finalizes a plan to require climate disclosures.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has heard suggestions that it should scale back its proposed reporting requirements for Scope 3 emissions, amid feedback that they are difficult to measure and disclose, Gensler said Monday.
