Money Managers May Go Back to School to Prove ESG Credentials

Instead of certifying certain bonds or funds as ESG-compliant, CFA Society of the U.K. is looking to accredit those who manage them.

CFA UK will introduce a Certificate in ESG Investing later this year, targeting professionals analyzing and buying assets that meet environmental, social and governance criteria, according to a statement May 14. The certificate will cost 470 pounds ($610), less than the 1,000 pounds-plus required for each of the three levels of the flagship CFA Program.
