Marriott Disputes Investor Claims in Starwood Data Breach Suit

Marriott International Inc. investors’ would-be class suit over a data breach should be dismissed because their complaint didn’t “plead any misstatement,” the hotel chain told a federal judge in Maryland.

Investors accused Marriott of misleading them about a breach that revealed the personal information of guests who stayed at Starwood hotels.

But the “claims fail as a matter of law,” according to a motion to dismiss filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
