Insider Trader Seeks Break on Sentence Like Ex-Goldman Banker

The son of a pharmaceutical company director asked a judge to sentence him to the time he’s already spent behind bars for his role in a insider-trading plot given that a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker got home detention and didn’t spend a day in jail for taking part in the same scheme.

Telemaque Lavidas has been in jail in New York since his arrest on insider-trader charges in October. He was convicted in January of leaking company secrets to a close friend who prosecutors say was part of a global insider-trading network.
