‘Good Time’ for New Proxy Adviser Guidance, SEC’s Roisman Says (1)

The time is “good” for the SEC to consider updating guidance for investment managers using firms like ISS for advice on voting company ballots, agency Commissioner Elad Roisman said March 18.

The Republican asked managers for input on proxy advisory firms at a conference in San Diego after Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton named him the point man on the agency’s efforts to improve corporate America’s shareholder voting system earlier this year. His remarks came in his first major speech since he became a commissioner last September.
