Facebook Seeks End to Investor’s ‘Not Serious’ Diversity Suit

Facebook Inc. has asked a federal court to throw out an investor’s lawsuit alleging the company caused an advertiser boycott after failing to take issues about diversity and race seriously.

The company filed a motion to dismiss the proposed class suit from shareholder Natalie Ocegueda in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Oct. 5.

Ocegueda has claimed Facebook’s board is liable for an exodus of advertisers that criticized the company’s handling of what they considered hate speech, according to court filings. She cited concerns about the company’s decision not to censor President Donald Trump’s “When the ...
