Activision’s Loss of ‘Destiny’ Partnership Gets Derivative Suit

Activision Blizzard Inc.'s leadership assured investors of the ongoing profitability of a partnership with another gaming company, then ended the arrangement early, a June 4 suit said.

Activision’s directors and officers in late 2018 said its relationship with Bungie Inc., the other developer behind the “Destiny” game series, would continue to grow “throughout 2019 and beyond.” But the pair in January called off the partnership two years early, the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.
