Workplace Injury, Illness Reporting Mandate Nears OSHA Release

The Biden administration is moving closer to proposing a rule that’s expected to require large employers to submit workforce injury and illness records to the federal government’s workplace safety regulator.

The White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs completed its review of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s notice of proposed rulemaking, according to an online posting Wednesday. The approval clears the way for OSHA to publish the proposed reporting standard in the Federal Register and begin a public comment period (RIN:1218-AD40).
