Worker Safety Spending Changes Little in 2020 Request (1)

Funding for federal workplace safety agencies in 2020 would change little over 2019 levels under the Trump administration’s spending request released March 11.

The White House is recommending $557.5 million for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for fiscal year 2020, which begins Oct. 1. For fiscal 2019, OSHA received $557.2 million, while the White House sought $549 million.

President Donald Trump also requested $376 million for the Mine Safety and Health Administration. The agency received $373.8 million for fiscal 2019 after the Trump administration sought $375.9 million.
